Throttle Opening Signal Inspection

  1. Check that a resistance of 3500 to 6500 ohms exists between terminals "B" and "D". Check resistance between "B" and "D" and between "B" and "C" changes with opening of throttle valve.
  2. Check that resistance between terminals "B" and "C" is less than 1000 ohms with throttle valve fully closed, and greater than 2400 ohms with valve fully opened (80% of resistance between terminals "B" and "D"). See Figure .
  3. Check that resistance between terminals "B" and "C" increases continuously when throttle valve is moved from fully closed to fully open position.
  4. Check that resistance between terminals "B" and "C" decreases continuously when throttle valve is moved from fully open to fully closed position.
NOTE: If any defect is found in above checks, replace throttle sensor.
