Ignition System - NIPPONDENSO Electronic: Testing: Distributor

  1. Check cap and rotor for cracks or other damage. Ensure carbon brush on cap protrudes at least .087" (2.2 mm). Check air gap. Turn rotor counterclockwise and ensure it returns to original position.
  2. Apply 12 in. Hg vacuum to vacuum diaphragm. Ensure diaphragm rod moves and diaphragm does not leak. Release vacuum and ensure rod returns to original position.
