Steering Rack: Removal

  1. With steering gear removed from vehicle, mount steering gear in vise and Stand (926200000 ). Slide back mounting rubber to expose slit.
  2. Using Wrench (926340000 ), rotate rack stopper clockwise until end of circlip comes out of stopper. Rotate counterclockwise and pull out circlip.
  3. Remove rack bushing assembly and rack stopper together with rack shaft from cylinder side. Ensure rack shaft does not contact inner wall of cylinder when removing. Remove rack bushing assembly and rack stopper from rack shaft. Discard rack bushing.
