Cancel Function Inoperative

  1. Check operation of brake and stop switch. If brake and/or stop switch do not operate properly, replace switch(s). If switch(s) operate properly, replace cruise control unit with a known good control unit. Check operation of control unit.
  2. If control unit operates properly, replace control unit. If control unit does not operate properly, reinstall old control unit. Replace actuator with a known good actuator. Check operation of actuator. If actuator operates properly, replace actuator.
  3. If actuator does not operate properly, reinstall old actuator. Replace valve assembly with a known good valve. Check operation of valve. If valve operates properly, replace valve.
  4. If valve does not operate properly, reinstall old valve. Replace pump with a known good pump. Check operation of pump. If pump operates properly, replace pump. If pump does not operate properly, check wiring, connections and vacuum hoses.
  5. Check operation of clutch switch (M/T). If clutch switch does not operate properly, replace switch. If switch operates properly, follow test procedure in step 1).
  6. Check operation of shift select lever (A/T). Ensure engine can be started only when gear selector is in "PARK" or "NEUTRAL". If engine starts in any other gear, replace inhibitor switch. If switch operates properly, follow test procedure in step 1).
  7. If cruise control does not disengage at speeds below 19 MPH, follow test procedure in step 1). If cruise control does not disengage when engine RPM is 6000 or more, check tachometer operation.
  8. If tachometer operates properly, check control unit connector for proper connection. If tachometer does operate properly, check for faulty connection at negative terminal of ignition coil.
