Throttle Opening Signal

  1. With an ohmmeter, check resistance between terminal "B" and "D". Reading should be between 3500-6500 ohms.
  2. Check resistance between terminal "B" and "C", reading should be less than 1000 ohms with throttle valve fully closed and greater than 2400 ohms with throttle valve fully opened (about 80% of resistance between terminal "B" and "D").
  3. Check that resistance between terminal "B" and "C" increases continuously when the throttle valve is moved from the fully closed to the fully opened position.
  4. Check that resistance between terminal "B" and "C" decreases continuously when the throttle valve is moved from the fully opened to the fully closed position.
  5. Replace Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) if specified readings are not obtained.
