Cranking Test
- Hook up voltmeter and ammeter. See Fig 1. Disconnect ignition coil secondary wire from distributor and ground it. Turn ignition switch to start.
- Check cranking voltage and current draw. Voltage should be no less than 9.5 volts on Subaru 1600. Current draw should be less than 270 amps on Subaru 1600. Cranking speed should be approximately 1200 RPM on Subaru 1600.
