Fast Idle Valve

To prevent erratic running during engine warm-up, a higher idle speed is needed. This is accomplished through use of a thermowax fast idle valve. When engine temperature is less than 86°F (30°C) this valve is open to by-pass additional air into intake manifold. This operation is dependent solely upon coolant temperature.
