Throttle Control Cable

  1. Loosen lock nuts on both sides of the throttle control cable bracket. See Fig 1 . Press down on throttle control lever until it stops.
  2. While pressing down on throttle control lever, remove all free play by turning upper lock nut until it lightly seats on the throttle control cable bracket.
  3. Tighten lower lock nut nut to secure cable adjustment. BEFORE starting engine, depress accelerator to floor. Ensure there is at least .08" (2 mm) free play in throttle control lever. Check that cable moves freely when depressing accelerator.
  4. Start engine. With shift lever in Neutral or Park, throttle control cable lever movement should be synchronized with accelerator pedal movement.
