Synchronization, Function - GF27.10-P-4052KJ
TRANSMISSION 700.4 in MODEL 453.0/3/4
Synchronization, general
High torque transfer and frequent shift work, with a simultaneous reduction in shift force, require high-performance synchronization of the shift mechanism.
The multiple-cone synchronizers for 1st gear to 6th gear meet these requirements and provide the following advantages during shift operations:
- Fast synchronization
- High ease of shifting
- Low shift forces
A distinction is made between the following types of synchronizer:
- Multiple-cone synchronizer (3-x) from 1st to 3rd gear
- Double-cone synchronizer from 4th to 6th gear
- Single-cone synchronizer from reverse gear
Multiple-cone synchronizer (3-x) from 1st to 3rd gear
A multiple-cone synchronizer is used for synchronization of 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. An additional cone ring between the friction ring and synchronizer ring and a friction lining on the friction ring are the decisive components. The three friction surfaces of the cone and friction rings effectively combine and allow the gears with a multiple-cone synchronizer to be braked and accelerated faster and with less force.
Double-cone synchronizer from 4th to 6th gear
A double-cone synchronizer is used for synchronization of 4th, 5th and 6th gear.
Compared with the multiple-cone synchronizer there is no friction lining here on the friction ring.
Single-cone synchronizer from reverse gear
A single-cone synchronizer is used for synchronization of the reverse gear.
Compared with the double-cone synchronizer the cone ring and friction ring are not required here.
