| Remove/install | |||
| 1 | Raise vehicle with vehicle lift | ||
| 2 | Remove front underfloor paneling | ||
| 3 | Turn front wheels to right until nut (2) is accessible | ||
| 4 | Unscrew nut (2) and remove associated threaded pin | *BA46.10-P-1003-05B | |
| 5 | Place front wheels in straight-ahead position | ||
| 6 | Fold ball joint (4) on steering gear (3) upwards | ||
| 7 | Detach seal (5) of steering column tube (1) from firewall (6) and press inwards | Ensure that seal (5) is seated correctly on firewall (6). Otherwise, water can penetrate into the vehicle interior. |

| 8 | Lower vehicle with vehicle lift | ||
| 9 | Remove steering column tube module | AR54.25-P-2802SR | |
| 10 | Disconnect electrical connectors (7) | ||
| 11 | Unclip retaining clips (8) on steering column tube (1) | ||
| 12 | Move electrical wiring harnesses (9) out of working area | ||
| 13 | Unscrew nuts (10) | *BA46.10-P-1002-05B | |
| 14 | Remove steering column tube (1) | Pay attention to surrounding trim parts when removing steering column tube (1). They can be damaged otherwise. |

| 15 | Install in the reverse order |
