Remove/Install Automatic Transmission - AR27.10-P-0502SR

TRANSMISSION 700.41 in MODEL 453 (except 453.09/39/49)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Move selector lever to position "N"    
2 Disconnect battery ground line   AR54.10-P-0003SR
3 Remove bearing of transmission mounting   AR27.10-P-0002SR 
4 Remove cable for selector lever lock from transmission   AR27.60-P-0002SR 
5 Disconnect electrical connection (2)    
6 Disconnect electrical connection (3)    
7 Raise vehicle using the vehicle lift and secure in place   AR00.60-P-0100SR
8 Remove rear axle shafts (4)   AR35.30-P-0620SRA
9 Remove left rear axle spring (5)   AR32.20-P-0230SR
10 Remove bolts (6) and remove support (7) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, support to crankcase *BA22.10-P-1007-01H 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, front engine mount to transmission housing *BA22.10-P-1005-01H 
11 Disconnect electrical connection (8)    
12 Disconnect Electrical connection (9)    
13 Disconnect electrical connection (10)    
14 Remove bolt (11) from ground line (12) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, ground line to transmission *BA27.10-P-1001-06A 
15 Remove ground line (12) from working area    
16 Release and disconnect electrical connections (13) from dual clutch transmission control unit (N15/13)    
17 Unclip bracket (14) with electrical wiring harness (15) from dual clutch transmission control unit (N15/13)    
18 Disconnect electrical connection (22)    
19 Unclip electrical wiring harness (15) on transmission    
20 Lower vehicle with vehicle lift    
21 Pull out electrical wiring harness (15) with bracket (14) upwards and remove from working area    
22 Unscrew nut (16) under intake manifold or the charge air pipe (17) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, transmission to engine *BA27.10-P-1003-06A 
23 Remove screw/bolt (18) under the intake manifold or the charge air pipe (17) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, transmission to engine *BA27.10-P-1002-06A 
24 Raise vehicle with vehicle lift    
25 REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS Position telescopic lifter using removal fixture at suitable position on transmission (1) 000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount   WS01.00-P-0092B

26 Remove screws/bolts (19) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, transmission to engine *BA27.10-P-1002-06A 
27 Unfasten nut (20) and remove threaded pin (21) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Threaded pin to engine/transmission *BA27.10-P-1005-06A 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, transmission to engine *BA27.10-P-1003-06A 
28 Remove transmission (1) from below INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Before positioning the transmission (1), turn damping ring (24) against flywheel (23) in the direction of the arrow and press notches (24.1) into the relevant opening of the flywheel (23) (arrow).
IMPORTANT Helper required.
 
INSPECT Check     
29 Check transmission (1) in the area of dual clutch for leakage If there are problems

Remove dual clutch, identify cause and rectify.

30 Check gearing at flywheel (23) and dual clutch for wear and damage In the event of complaints

Replace flywheel (23) and dual clutch.
Replace flywheel (23)

Reparameterize electronic transmission control IMPORTANT N15/13 - Electronic transmission control for dual-clutch transmission (DKG) → Adaptations → Learning processes
IMPORTANT In the "Learning processes" menu, the menu items must be processed in the following sequence:
Resetting of learned values of component dual clutch
Teach-in process of component B56/1 (transmission mode recognition sensor)
Teach-in of reference positions of clutch
Teach-in of clutch engagement points
