Location
The powerline gateway control unit (N24/5) is installed under the front passenger seat.
Task
The powerline gateway control unit enables the vehicle to be integrated in an intelligent power network. Data are exchanged with the power supply equipment based on the communication protocol specified in ISO/IEC 15118 and this exchange includes data for authentication, invoicing and charge optimization.
Reading in of sensors and signals
Input factors are read in by means of the following connections:
- Direct line
- Telematics CAN (CAN A)
- Electric drive CAN (CAN EL)
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
Output of signals and actuation of components
Initial parameter are output over the following connections:
- Direct line
- Telematics CAN (CAN A)
- Electric drive CAN (CAN EL)

Structure
The powerline gateway control unit consists of a plastic housing with one plug connector and an internal control unit.
Ground connection
The "circuit 31" ground connection occurs via a ground line.
Voltage supply
The powerline gateway control unit is supplied with power from "circuit 30 fused".
