Locking/Unlocking Vehicle With Inside Switch, Function - GF80.20-P-3009KJ

MODEL 453.0/3/4

Locking/unlocking vehicle with inside with, function, general

Function requirement

General function

The signals from the inside door handle central locking switch (S6/1s2) are read in by via a direct line by the center SAM control unit (N10/10). The status of the central locking (CL) is indicated in the vehicle interior via the central locking indicator lamp (E6/1e3) in the inside door handle central locking switch.

The following functions can be operated via the inside door handle central locking switch:

One single door can also be opened with the inside door handle on the corresponding door. The CL recognizes this via the corresponding central locking microswitch (for details see chapter "Globally unlocking via inside door handle central locking switch" below).

On vehicles with code V19 (Antitheft alarm system) or retrofitted antitheft alarm system (ATA), an alarm is triggered when opened with the inside door handle or when the vehicle is locked from the outside previously. The rear doors can only be opened from the inside, if they are not secured by the child safety lock.

IMPORTANT If the vehicle is completely unlocked (globally) previously, the complete vehicle is unlocked. If only the driver door has been unlocked previously, only the door, which is to be opened from inside, is unlocked.

Unlocking inside door handle central locking globally (entire vehicle)

Additional function requirements

If the inside door handle central locking switch is locked when the vehicle was locked previously from inside, all vehicle doors are unlocked. Opening the liftgate and the tank cap is permitted. For this purpose the center SAM control unit actuates the following components via direct lines:

The liftgate is enabled electronically to open and can only be opened via trunk lid/liftgate lock switch (S15/1) or via the driver trunk lid/liftgate control button.

The status of the individual door locks is detected by the center SAM control unit via the microswitches in the individual actuators:

A single door can also be opened with the inside door handle switch of the corresponding door, even when the vehicle is locked. This is recognized by the CL via the central locking microswitch in the corresponding door.

On vehicles with code V19 (Antitheft alarm system) or on retrofitted ATA, an alarm is triggered when the vehicle is opened with the inside door handle or when the vehicle has been locked from the outside previously. The rear doors can only be opened from the inside, if they are not secured by the child safety lock.

If, on vehicles with code 885 (Increased theft protection) (Great Britain), the additional door lock is activated via the transmitter key, the vehicle cannot be unlocked from the inside.

Unlocking inside door handle central locking selectively (only driver side) (only on driver side) (only with code 494 (USA version))

Additional function requirements

IMPORTANT Selective unlocking can be adjusted via XENTRY diagnostics or on vehicles with code 535 (smart Media system) in Smart Radio Multimedia Navigator (A40/3) via menu "Vehicle" in submenu "Settings" on "Disable only driver door".

If selective unlocking is adjusted, only the driver door and the tank cap are unlocked via the inside door handle central locking switch during the first unlocking procedure. Thereby the following actuators are actuated by the center SAM control unit to unlock:

The liftgate is enabled electronically to open and can only be opened via the trunk lid/liftgate lock switch or via the driver trunk lid/liftgate control button.

If the inside door handle central locking switch is actuated a second time, the vehicle is then unlocked globally.

Locking globally via inside door handle central locking switch

By actuating the inside door handle central locking switch when the vehicle is unlocked, the vehicle is locked globally. For this purpose the center SAM control unit actuates the following components via direct lines:

The center SAM control unit recognized via the central locking microswitch when the vehicle is locked successfully. When the vehicle is locked, the liftgate is enabled electronically and therefore can no longer be opened via the trunk lid/liftgate release switch or driver trunk lid/liftgate control button (model with code 494 (USA version)).

Unlocking liftgate via driver trunk lid/liftgate control button (only model 453.0/3 with code 494 (USA version))

By actuating the driver trunk lid/liftgate control button when the vehicle is unlocked, the liftgate is unlocked and jumps open so that it can be opened completely by hand. For this purpose the center SAM control unit actuates the following components via direct lines:

The center SAM control unit detects the status of the opened liftgate via the liftgate central locking microswitch (M14/7s1).
