Location 

The telematics services communications module is fastened in the instrument panel behind the instrument cluster (A1) with a bracket at the crossmember.

Task 

IMPORTANT The following abbreviations are used below: Auxiliary (AUX), Global Positioning System (GPS), General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Global System Mobile (GSM), Universal Serial Bus (USB), Point(s) of Interest (POI), Subscriber Identification Module (SIM).

Read in sensors and signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

Telematics CAN (CAN A) 

The telematics services communications module is a telematics CAN subscriber. The telematics services communications module reads in signals from the following control units over the telematics CAN:

Interior CAN (CAN B) 

The telematics services communications module is an interior CAN subscriber. The telematics services communications module reads in signals from the following control units over the interior CAN:

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor of the telematics services communications module whereupon the respective components are then actuated.

Actuation of components 

The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:

Direct line 

The following components are actuated via direct lines:

Telematics CAN 

The telematics services communications module sends signals over the telematics CAN to the following control units:

Interior CAN 

The telematics services communications module sends signals over the interior CAN to the following control units:

Structure 

The telematics services communications module is equipped with an integrated SIM card (e-SIM), integrated GSM antenna, an integrated GSM/GPRS processor, and a connection to the interior CAN and the telematics CAN.
