	Remove/install
1	Remove transmitter key and mains plug
2	Carry out disconnection of high-voltage system		AR54.10-P-1160MEV
3	Remove fender liner in right rear fender	MODEL 451.391/491 with ENGINE 780.009 without CODE 494 (US version)	AR88.10-P-1400MCC
		MODEL 451.391/491 with ENGINE 780.009 with CODE 494 (US version)	AR88.10-P-1400MCU
4	Disconnect electrical connections (1, 2) from external socket communications control unit (N24/4)
5	Unscrew bolts (3) and remove bracket (4) with external socket communications control unit (N24/4)
6	Unscrew bolts (5) from bracket (4) remove external socket communications control unit (N24/4)	When replacing the external socket communications control unit (N24/4).
7	Install in the reverse order
	Initial startup for replacement
8	Register chassis number of vehicle and serial number of control unit for external socket communication (N24/4) over TIPS	This enables a complete functional capability of the control unit for external socket communication (N24/4) to be assured.
9	Switch on ignition for a min. of 5 minutes	The control unit for external socket communication (N24/4) sets up an internal connection to the server.
10	Switch off ignition
11	Connect charger mains plug to vehicle and to the power outlet for the charger feed, and then charge for approx. 10 minutes	Check and monitor charging process. Choose a location with an excellent Global System Mobile (GSM) network for charging to achieve a complete teach-in process for the control unit for the external socket communication (N24/4).
12	Register date and time of last charging process through TIPS	Wait for TIPS feedback with confirmation of a functional control unit for external socket communication (N24/4).
