	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	Remove/install
1	Detach left and right brake cable in vehicle interior		AR42.20-P-0545SR
2	Remove wheel and tire assemblies on rear axle		AR40.10-P-1100SR
3	Pull left and right brake cable from guide tubes on body		AR42.20-P-0545SR
4	Remove rubber grommets (6) from axle tube (5)
5	Remove rubber grommets on left rear axle rpm sensor and right rear axle rpm sensor from axle tube (5)		AR42.40-P-9807SR
6	Remove bolt (3) from left and right shock absorber (4) and pull out	Bolt, shock absorber to rear axle	*BA32.25-P-1001-03Q
	Detach left and right shock absorber (4) from axle tube (5) 000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount		WS01.00-P-0092B
		Installation: Use a telescopic lifter to position each shock absorber (4) on axle tube (5).
8	Detach brake lines (7) from brake hoses (8) and detach brake hoses (8) from axle tube bracket (5)		AR42.10-P-0023SR
9	Prop up axle tube (5) using telescopic lifter in area of rear axle center bearing (9) 000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount		WS01.00-P-0092B
10	Remove screw/bolt (10)	Bolt, rear axle tube to body	*BA35.10-P-1002-03B
11	Lower axle tube (5) with telescopic lifter until the left and right rear axle spring (1) can be removed 000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount		WS01.00-P-0092B
		Installation: The coil end on the rear axle spring (1) must be positioned just before the end stop (13.1) of the lower spring cup (13) when installed. Otherwise noises can occur while driving.
12	Remove left or right rear axle spring (1)	When replacing a rear axle spring (1) note the color codings on the spring coils. The color codings on the left and right rear axle spring (1) must not vary.
	Check
13	Check left or right rear axle spring (1), upper spring cup (12) and lower spring cup (13) for damage	Installation: The assembly position of the lower spring cup (13) is defined by a nipple (13.2), which is pressed into a hole (arrow A) on the mount. In event of any visible damage to components: ↓ Replace corresponding component.
14	Install in the reverse order
