Location 

The airbag unit and the associated squibs are installed in the steering wheel.

Task 

The driver is protected from injury in the event of a frontal impact by the airbag unit.

The two-stage airbag unit is deployed by means of squib ignition by the restraint systems control unit (N2/7).
