Location 

The head/thoraxbag units are located in the outboard side of the driver and front passenger seat backrests.

Task 

The head/thoraxbag units protect the driver and the front passenger from injury in the head and thorax areas in the event of a side-on collision.

The integrated gas generator is deployed by means of squib ignition by the restraint systems control unit (N2/7).
