Installation [06/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY GASKET 
    1. Install a new throttle body gasket to the intake manifold with the protrusion of the throttle body gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.

      *a Protrusion
  2. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/ Stud Bolt:
      1. Install the throttle body assembly to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

        Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

        NOTE:

        If the throttle body assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    2. w/o Stud Bolt:
      1. Install the throttle body assembly to the intake manifold with the 4 bolts.

        Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

        NOTE:

        If the throttle body assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. Connect the No. 1 water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose to the throttle body assembly and slide the 2 clips to secure them.
    4. Connect the throttle body assembly connector.
  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Connect the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose to the throttle body assembly.
    2. Engage the 2 clamps to install the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose.
    3. Tighten the hose clamp.

      Torque: 2.0 N*m (20 kgf*cm, 18 in.*lbf) 

    4. Check that the condition of the hose clamp is as specified as shown in the illustration.

      *a Hose Clamp
      *b Air Cleaner Hose
      *c Top
      *d Front
    5. Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and slide the clip to secure it.
    6. Connect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector and engage the 2 wire harness clamps.
  4. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 82

  5. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to perform this procedure after removing and reinstalling the throttle body assembly or any throttle body assembly components.
    • Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle body assembly or any throttle body assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body assembly is cleaned.
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2015 - ]

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.
    3. Perform the "Inspection After Repair".

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2015 - ]

    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range with the A/C switch off.

      Standard Idle Speed

      600 to 700 rpm

      NOTE:
      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
      • Make sure that the shift lever is in P or N (for CVT).
      • Make sure that the shift lever is in neutral (for Manual Transaxle).
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Throttle Sensor Position
    6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or higher.
    7. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
