  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (OPERATE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE FOR ACIS)
    GTY420835Courtesy of © TOYOTA, LICENSE AGREEMENT TMS1002
    1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from port F of the vacuum switching valve (for ACIS).
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Start the engine.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Active the VSV for Intake Control.
    5. Operate the vacuum switching valve for ACIS.
    6. Check the vacuum switching valve air flow when switching the vacuum switching valve.

      OK

      Test Condition Specified Condition
Vacuum switching valve is ON Air from port E flows out through port F
Vacuum switching valve is OFF Air from port E flows out through air filter
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Air
      *2 Port F
      *3 Port E
      *4 Air Filter
*a Vacuum Switching Valve is ON
*b Vacuum Switching Valve is OFF

    NG → See step   4

    OK: Go to next step

  2. CHECK VACUUM HOSES (VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (FOR ACIS) - INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE, INTAKE MANIFOLD)
    1. Check the vacuum hoses. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [05/2013 - ] - Step 1 .

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE VACUUM HOSES

    OK: Go to next step

  3. INSPECT INTAKE MANIFOLD (INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE)
    1. Inspect the intake air control valve. Refer to INSPECTION [05/2013 - ] .

    NG → See step   9

    OK → See step   7

  4. INSPECT VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (FOR ACIS)
    1. Inspect the vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS). Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [05/2013 - ] .

    NG → See step   8

    OK: Go to next step

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (FOR ACIS) - ECM AND INTEGRATION RELAY)
    1. Disconnect the vacuum switching valve (for ACIS) connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Remove the integration relay from the engine room relay block.
    4. Disconnect the integration relay connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B19-1 - B30-27 (ACIS) Always Below 1 Ω
      B19-2 - 1B-4 Always Below 1 Ω
B19-1 or B30-27 (ACIS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
B19-2 or 1B-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK → See step   6
