Charging System (Service Information): Generator: Removal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH 
  3. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  4. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  5. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove 2 bolts and remove the engine mounting stay RH.

    2. Place a wooden block on a jack underneath the engine.

    3. Remove the 6 bolts and nut and remove the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly RH.
      NOTE:

      Do not remove bolt A.

  6. REMOVE TRANSVERSE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and remove the engine mounting bracket.

  7. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the fan belt adjusting bar.

    2. Remove the terminal cap.

    3. Remove the nut and remove terminal B.
    4. Disconnect the connector and harness clamp.
    5. Remove the bolt and remove the generator assembly.

    6. Remove the bolt and remove the wire harness bracket.
