Input Shaft: Inspection: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT CLUTCH DISC 
    1. Check whether the sliding surface of the discs, plates and flanges are worn or burnt.

      If necessary, replace them.

      NOTE:
      • If the lining of any disc is peeling off or discolored, or even if a part of the printed number is defaced, replace all the discs.
      • Before assembling new discs, soak them in Toyota Genuine ATF WS or equivalent for at least 15 minutes.
  2. INSPECT FORWARD CLUTCH RETURN SPRING SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using vernier calipers, measure the free length of the spring together with the spring seat.

      Standard free length

      21.69 mm (0.8540 in.)
