DTC C1516/16: Torque Sensor Zero Point Adjustment Incomplete: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT) 
    1. Perform initialization. Refer to CALIBRATION .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (TORQUE SENSOR) 
    1. Perform torque sensor zero point calibration. Refer to CALIBRATION .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. CONFIRM DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC still output even after performing torque sensor zero point calibration once. A
      Normal system code output. B

    B → END 

    A: Go to next step 

  5. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization again. Refer to CALIBRATION .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  7. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 
    1. Perform torque sensor zero point calibration again. Refer to CALIBRATION .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. CONFIRM DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC still output even after performing torque sensor zero point calibration twice. A
      Normal system code output. B

    B → END 

    A: Go to next step 

  9. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization again. Refer to CALIBRATION .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  11. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 
    1. Perform torque sensor zero point calibration again. Refer to CALIBRATION .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  12. CONFIRM DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC still output even after performing torque sensor zero point calibration 3 times. A
      Normal system code output. B

      HINT: 

      The steering column assembly must be replaced if C1516/16 is still output even after the torque sensor zero point calibration is performed 3 times.

  13. REPLACE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
