Intake Manifold: Removal: Removal

  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PRECAUTION .

  2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1 .
  3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2 .
  4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3 .
  5. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4 .
  6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5 .
  7. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6 .
  8. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7 .
  9. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8 .
  10. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2 .
  11. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH NO. 1 AIR CLEANER HOSE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3 .
  12. REMOVE THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4 .
  13. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Release the claw and remove the EFI fuel pipe clamp.

    2. Pinch the retainer as illustrated, then pull the fuel tube connector out of the pipe.

      NOTE:
      • Remove any dirt and foreign matter from the fuel tube connector before performing this work.
      • Do not allow any scratches or foreign matter on the parts when disconnecting, as the fuel tube connector has O-rings that seal the pipe.
      • Perform this work by hand. Do not use any tools.
      • Do not forcibly bend, kink or twist the nylon tube.
      • Protect the disconnected parts by covering them with vinyl bags after disconnecting the fuel tube.
      • If the fuel tube connector and pipe are stuck, push and pull to release them.
  14. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 4 fuel injector connectors and the oil control valve connector.

    2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
    3. Disengage the 4 wire harness clamps and separate the wire harness.
    4. Disengage the clamp and separate the fuel tube sub-assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 bolts and the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.
    6. Remove the 2 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers.

    7. Remove the 4 injector vibration insulators.
  15. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

    1. Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose.
    2. Disconnect the union to connector tube hose.

    3. Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts and the intake manifold.

    4. Remove the No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket.

    5. Remove the No. 2 ventilation hose.

    6. Remove the bolt and the vacuum hose clamp.

    7. Disengage the hose clamp and remove the union to connector tube hose.
