Terminals Of Ecu

  1. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

    *1 Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) - -
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
      Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      A-11 (GND1) - Body ground None - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
      A-29 (ACC) - Body ground None - Body ground ACC power supply Engine switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      Engine switch off Below 1 V
      A-30 (BECU) - Body ground None - Body ground Battery power supply Always 11 to 14 V
      A-31 (ALTB) - Body ground None - Body ground Battery power supply Always 11 to 14 V
      A-32 (IG) - Body ground None - Body ground Engine switch power supply Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Engine switch off Below 1 V

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness side or in the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    3. Install the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) to the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      C56-11 (L2) - Body ground L - Body ground Driver side door key-linked lock input Driver side door key cylinder in lock position Below 1 V
      Engine switch off, all doors closed and driver side door key cylinder in neutral position 11 to 14 V
      C56-24 (UL3) - Body ground R - Body ground Driver side door key-linked unlock input Driver side door key cylinder in unlock position Below 1 V
      Engine switch off, all doors closed and driver side door key cylinder in neutral position 11 to 14 V
      2D-11 (ACT+) - Body ground BE - Body ground Door lock motor lock drive output
      • Power window regulator master switch assembly (door control switch) not pushed and driver side door key cylinder in neutral position
      • Door control switch assembly not pushed and driver side door key cylinder in neutral position
      Below 1 V
      • Lock side of power window regulator master switch assembly (door control switch) pushed, or driver side door key cylinder in lock position
      • Lock side of door control switch assembly pushed, or driver side door key cylinder in lock position
      11 to 14 V
      2D-12 (ACT+) - Body ground R - Body ground Door lock motor lock drive output
      • Power window regulator master switch assembly (door control switch) not pushed and driver side door key cylinder in neutral position
      • Door control switch assembly not pushed and driver side door key cylinder in neutral position
      Below 1 V
      • Lock side of power window regulator master switch assembly (door control switch) pushed, or driver side door key cylinder in lock position
      • Lock side of door control switch assembly pushed, or driver side door key cylinder in lock position
      11 to 14 V
      2D-10 (ACTD) - Body ground LG - Body ground Driver side door lock motor unlock drive output
      • Power window regulator master switch assembly (door control switch) not pushed and driver side door key cylinder in neutral position
      • Door control switch assembly not pushed and driver side door key cylinder in neutral position
      Below 1 V
      • Unlock side of power window regulator master switch assembly (door control switch) pushed, or driver side door key cylinder in unlock position
      • Unlock side of door control switch assembly pushed, or driver side door key cylinder in unlock position
      11 to 14 V
      2C-12 (ACT-) - Body ground L - Body ground Door lock motor unlock drive output
      • Power window regulator master switch assembly (door control switch) not pushed and driver side door key cylinder in neutral position
      • Door control switch assembly not pushed and driver side door key cylinder in neutral position
      Below 1 V
      • Unlock side of power window regulator master switch assembly (door control switch) pushed, or driver side door key cylinder in unlock position
      • Unlock side of door control switch assembly pushed, or driver side door key cylinder in unlock position
      11 to 14 V
      C56-7 (LSFL) - Body ground BR - Body ground Driver side door lock position switch input Driver side door unlocked Below 1 V
      Engine switch off, all doors closed and driver side door locked 11 to 14 V
      C56-18 (LSFR) - Body ground GR - Body ground Front passenger side door lock position switch input Front passenger side door unlocked Below 1 V
      Engine switch off, all doors closed and front passenger side door locked 11 to 14 V
      C56-3 (HAZ) - Body ground W - Body ground Hazard warning light signal output Hazard warning signal switch off 11 to 14 V

      2B-35 (BZR) - Body ground LG - Body ground Wireless door lock buzzer signal Wireless door lock buzzer off Below 1 V

      If the result is not as specified, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) or instrument panel junction block assembly may have a malfunction.

  2. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)

    1. Disconnect the C35 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      C35-1 (+B) - C35-15 (E) LG - BR +B power supply Always 11 to 14 V
      C35-15 (E) - Body ground BR - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
      C35-17 (CUTB) - C35-15 (E) W - BR +B power supply Always 11 to 14 V
      • If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.
    3. Reconnect the C35 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
      Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      C35-16 (IG) - C35-15 (E) G - BR IG power supply Engine switch off → Engine switch on (IG) Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V
      C36-5 (RCO) - C35-15 (E) V - BR Output to door control receiver (Power supply for door control receiver. Certification ECU [smart key ECU assembly] outputs 5 V when receiver starts operating.) Procedure: 
      1. Engine switch off
      2. Electrical key transmitter brought outside vehicle
      3. Electrical key transmitter brought away from vehicle until key LED stops blinking
      4. Lock or unlock switch of electrical key transmitter not pressed → pressed
      Pulse generation (See waveform 1 in  e)
      C36-15 (RDA) - C35-15 (E) GR - BR Door control receiver verifies data received from key. Receiver sends data to ECU and intermittently grounds 12 V signal from certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly). Procedure: 
      1. Engine switch off
      2. Electrical key transmitter brought outside vehicle
      3. All doors locked
      4. Electrical key transmitter brought away from vehicle until key LED stops blinking
      5. Lock or unlock switch of electrical key transmitter not pressed → pressed
      Pulse generation (See waveform 2 in  f)
      C36-16 (RSSI) - C35-15 (E) R - BR Door control receiver sends signal to certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) indicating whether electric waves (example: 312 MHz) from key are being received or not (receiver grounds 12 V signal from certification ECU [smart key ECU assembly]) Procedure: 
      1. Engine switch off
      2. Electrical key transmitter brought outside vehicle
      3. All doors locked
      4. Electrical key transmitter brought away from vehicle until key LED stops blinking
      5. Lock or unlock switch of electrical key transmitter not pressed → pressed
      Pulse generation (See waveform 3 in  g)
      • If the result is not as specified, the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) may have a malfunction.
    5. Using an oscilloscope, check waveform 1.

      Tool Setting 2 V/DIV., 500 ms/DIV.
      Condition Procedure: 
      1. Engine switch off
      2. Electrical key transmitter brought outside vehicle
      3. Electrical key transmitter brought away from vehicle until key LED stops blinking
      4. Lock or unlock switch of electrical key transmitter not pressed → pressed
    6. Using an oscilloscope, check waveform 2.

    7. Using an oscilloscope, check waveform 3.
