Driver Side Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate: Procedure

- CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION
- When the door control switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly on the driver side door is operated, check that the doors unlock and lock according to the switch operation. Refer to OPERATION CHECK

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FL DOOR LOCK POS)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
- According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.MAIN BODY
Techstream Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note FL Door Lock Pos Front door unlock detection switch LH signal / LOCK or UNLOCK LOCK: Front LH side door locked
UNLOCK: Front LH side door unlocked- OK
On the Techstream screen, the display changes between LOCK and UNLOCK as shown in the table above.

OK: Go to next step
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (D-DOOR TOUCH SENSOR)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Data List.
- According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.SMART KEY
Techstream Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note D-Door Touch Sensor Front door outside handle assembly (for driver side) (unlock sensor) / ON or OFF ON: Front door outside handle assembly (for driver side) (unlock sensor) touched
ON: Front door outside handle assembly (for driver side) (unlock sensor) not touched- Displays whether the unlock sensor is on or off (even if the sensor is touched and contact is maintained, "ON" is displayed only momentarily).
- Use this Data List item to help determine if there is an unlock sensor malfunction when the entry unlock function does not operate.

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH)
- Disconnect the C19 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
- Disconnect the S1 front door outside handle assembly LH connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C19-20 (SEN1) - S1-4 (SENS) Always Below 1 Ω C19-15 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω C19-20 (SEN1) or S1-4 (SENS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH (DRIVER SIDE DOOR UNLOCK SENSOR SIGNAL INPUT)
- Connect the C19 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
- Connect the S1 front door outside handle assembly LH connector.

- Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly brought outside vehicle
- All doors locked
- Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly not sufficiently close to vehicle
- Driver door unlock sensor not touched → touched
2 V/DIV., 500 ms/DIV. Pulse generation (See waveform)

- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to REMOVAL
- REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to DISASSEMBLY
- GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM. Refer to Door Unlock Detection Switch Circuit
