Back Door Entry Lock Function does not Operate: Procedure

- CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION
- When the door control switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly is operated, check that the doors unlock and lock according to switch operation. Refer to OPERATION CHECK

- When the door control switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly is operated, check that the doors unlock and lock according to switch operation. Refer to OPERATION CHECK

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TR/B-DOOR LOCK SW)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Data List.
- According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.SMART KEY
Techstream Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Tr/B-Door Lock SW Back door outside handle sub-assembly (lock switch) / OFF or ON OFF: Back door outside handle sub-assembly (lock switch) not pushed
ON: Back door outside handle sub-assembly (lock switch) pushed- Displays whether the back door outside handle sub-assembly (lock switch) is on or off.
- Use this Data List item to help determine if there is a switch malfunction when the back door lock function does not operate.

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - BACK DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the C19 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
- Disconnect the L4 back door outside handle sub-assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C19-23 (TSW6) - L4-4 (UL) Always Below 1 Ω C19-23 (TSW6) or L4-4 (UL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT BACK DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Inspect the back door outside handle sub-assembly. Refer to INSPECTION .

- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to REMOVAL
- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (PROCEED TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE). Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- REPLACE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
