Engine Unit: Removal: Removal

HINT: 

Check whether the engine is TMC made or not by referring to the following illustration.

*1 Engine Oil Level Dipstick Guide *2 Water Inlet Housing
*3 Water Inlet Housing Drain Cock Assembly - -
  1. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  2. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7
  3. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

    1. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
    2. Remove the wire harness clamp.
    3. Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold.
    4. Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD INSULATOR  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 17
  6. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  7. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

    1. Remove the bolt and nut, then remove the manifold stay.
  8. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY

    1. Remove the bolt and nut, then remove the No. 2 manifold stay.
  9. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 5 nuts and exhaust manifold converter.

    2. Remove the gasket.
  10. REMOVE IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY  See step  42
  11. REMOVE INLET WATER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  12. REMOVE THERMOSTAT 
  13. REMOVE TRANSVERSE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET  See step  47
  14. REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK 
  15. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE (for TMC Made Engine)

    1. Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide.
    2. Remove the O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.
  16. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE (except TMC Made Engine)

    1. Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide.
    2. Remove the O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.
  17. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE (for TMC Made Engine) 
    1. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, then remove the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

    2. Remove the gasket.
  18. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE (except TMC Made Engine) 
    1. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, then remove the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

    2. Remove the gasket.
  19. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  20. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 18
  21. REMOVE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  22. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  23. REMOVE RADIO SETTING CONDENSER 
    1. Remove the bolt and radio setting condenser.
