Steering Angle Sensor Communication Stop Mode: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (STEERING SENSOR BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the C44 steering sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      C44-3 (CANH) - C44-2 (CANL) Ignition Switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE CONNECTED TO STEERING SENSOR (CAN-H, CAN-L) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG, ESS) 
    1. Disconnect the C44 steering sensor connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C44-1 (ESS) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      C44-4 (IG) - Body ground Ignition Switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE STEERING SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL
