Front Passenger Side Power Window does not Operate with Front Passenger Side Power Window Switch: Procedure

  1. CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check for LIN communication system DTCs related to the power window control system. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .

      OK

      LIN communication system DTCs are not output.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK FOR DTC (B2312) 
    1. Check if DTC B2312 is output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      OK

      DTC B2312 is not output.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (P-DOOR MOTOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body / P-Door Motor / Data List.
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.
      P-DOOR MOTOR

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      P Door P/W Up SW Front passenger side power window manual UP switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side power window manual UP switch operated
      OFF: Front passenger side power window regulator switch not operated
      -
      P Door P/W Down SW Front passenger side power window manual DOWN switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side power window manual DOWN switch operated
      OFF: Front passenger side power window regulator switch not operated
      -

      OK

      The Techstream display changes normally when front passenger side power window switch is operated.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   10 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the E2 power window regulator switch assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E2-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Window Regulator Switch Assembly)
    3. Reconnect the power window regulator switch assembly connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR - BATTERY, BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the E4 front power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E4-2 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E4-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      (to Front Power Window Regulator Motor Assembly RH)
    4. Reconnect the front power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH - POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the E2 front power window regulator switch assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the E4 front power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E2-6 (UP) - E4-10 (UP) Always Below 1 Ω
      E2-7 (DOWN) - E4-7 (DOWN) Always Below 1 Ω
      E2-6 (UP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E2-7 (DOWN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the front power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.
    5. Reconnect the front power window regulator switch assembly connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the power window regulator switch assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      6 (UP) - 1 (GND) MANUAL UP operation Below 1 Ω
      7 (DOWN) - 1 (GND) MANUAL DOWN operation Below 1 Ω

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Power Window Regulator Switch Assembly)
    3. Reinstall the power window regulator switch assembly.

    NG → See step   11 

    OK → See step   12 

  8. GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  9. GO TO DTC (B2312). Refer to  DTC B2312: Power Window Switch Malfunction  
  10. REPLACE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY 
  11. REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  12. REPLACE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY
