Steering Angle Sensor: Removal: Removal

WARNING:

Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Refer to PRECAUTION .

  1. TURN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  3. REMOVE STEERING PAD  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  5. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  6. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  7. REMOVE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

    1. Disengage the 6 claws and 2 pins, and remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable.
