Front Seat Assembly: Installation

CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (See PRECAUTION ).
NOTE: Always use "TORX" socket wrench E10 when installing the front seat.

HINT:

The procedure described below is for the driver side LHD. Use the same procedure for both the front passenger and driver sides of LHD, unless otherwise specified.

  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH 
    NOTE: Follow the procedure described below in order to prevent the seat tracks from locking separately.
    1. Insert the 2 location pins through the 2 body holes, place the front seat in the most forward position and make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks are locked securely.
    2. Using "TORX" socket wrench E10, install bolt 1 and then bolt 2 onto the rear side.

      Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)

    3. Move the front seat to the most rearward position, and then make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks are securely locked.
    4. Using "TORX" socket wrench E10, install bolt 3 and then bolt 4 onto the rear side.

      Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks lock simultaneously after the seat is moved.

      HINT:

      If the inner and outer seat tracks do not lock simultaneously, loosen the bolts and adjust the seat tracks.

    6. Connect the airbag connector.
    7. Connect the buckle switch connector.

    9. Install the wiring harness clamps.
  2. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH 
    NOTE: Follow the procedure described below in order to prevent the seat tracks from locking separately.
    1. Insert the 2 location pins through the 2 body holes, place the front seat in the most forward position and make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks are locked securely.
    2. Using "TORX" socket wrench E10, install bolt 1 and then bolt 2 onto the rear side.

      Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)

    3. Move the front seat to the most rearward position, and then make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks are securely locked.
    4. Using "TORX" socket wrench E10, install bolt 3 and then bolt 4 onto the rear side.

      Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks lock simultaneously after the seat is moved.

      HINT:

      If the inner and outer seat tracks do not lock simultaneously, loosen the bolts and adjust the seat tracks.

    6. Connect the airbag connector.
    7. Connect the buckle switch connector.
    8. Connect the occupant classification ECU connector.

    10. Install the wiring harness clamp.
  3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

  4. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )
