Front Seat Assembly: Disassembly

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp surfaces on the front seat adjuster frame could cause injuries to your hands.

HINT:

The procedure described below is for the driver side of LHD. Use the same procedure for both the front passenger and driver sides of LHD, unless otherwise specified.

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, release lock button B while pressing in lock button A, and remove the front seat headrest assembly.

  2. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and the clip and remove the front seat cushion shield.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and the clip and remove the front seat cushion shield.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER PAD 
    1. Disengage the 4 hooks, and remove the front seat cushion cover band.

    2. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    4. Remove the hook tape and the front seat cushion cover pad fixing cover.
    5. Disengage the 2 claws and 9 hooks, and remove the front seat cushion cover pad.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER PAD 
    1. Remove the 3 hog rings as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the 2 hog rings shown in the illustration.

    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, Press the headrest support into the seat back cover pad.
      NOTE: Do not damage the seat cover and seat back pad.

    4. Remove the front seatback cover pad.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the airbag connector and the 3 wire harness clamps.

    2. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 wire harness clamps.

    3. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat side airbag.

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT 
    1. Using a screwdriver, fix the upper active headrest unit.
    2. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

  10. REMOVE UPPER ACTIVE HEADREST UNIT 
    1. Remove the 5 nuts.

    3. Disengage the lower active headrest unit cable and remove the upper active headrest unit.
  11. REMOVE LOWER ACTIVE HEADREST UNIT 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and remove the lower active headrest unit.

  12. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster inside cover.

  13. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER LH 
    1. Remove the screw and the reclining adjuster outside cover.

  15. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the claw and remove the front seat cushion lower shield.
  17. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD RH 
    1. Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the claw and remove the front seat cushion lower shield.
  18. REMOVE SEAT SLIDE POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR (for Driver Side) 
    1. Disengage the pin and remove the seat slide position sensor protector.

  19. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Driver Side) 
    1. Using "TORX" socket wrench T30, remove the bolt and the seat position sensor.

  20. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Disconnect the 5 connectors.

    3. Remove the 2 wiring harness clamps and the front seat wire.
  21. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Disengage the claw and remove the occupant classification ECU.
