Outer Rear View Mirror: Inspection

  1. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Check the operation.
      1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 (MV) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5 (M+), then check that the mirror turns upward.

        OK: 

        Turns upward 

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

      2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 (M+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4 (MV), then check that the mirror turns downward.

        OK: 

        Turns downward 

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

      3. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 (MH) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5 (M+), then check that the mirror turns left.

        OK: 

        Turns left 

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

      4. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 (M+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (MH), then check that the mirror turns right.

        OK: 

        Turns right 

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

  2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Check the operation.
      1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 (MV) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5(M+), then check that the mirror turns upward.

        OK: 

        Turns upward 

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

      2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 (M+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4 (MV), then check that the mirror turns downward.

        OK: 

        Turns downward 

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

      3. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 (MH) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5 (M+), then check that the mirror turns left.

        OK: 

        Turns left 

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

      4. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 (M+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (MH), then check that the mirror turns right.

        OK: 

        Turns right 

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
