Rear Door Lock: Installation

INSTALL REAR DOOR LOCK
NOTE:
- If reusing a door lock that has been removed, replace the packing in the connecting part with a new packing.
- Make sure that no grease or dirt adheres to the packing surface in the connecting part.
1. Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the front door lock.
2. Install the rear door inside locking cable.

3. Engage the 3 claws and close the cover.

4. Install the rear door lock remote control cable.

5. Engage the claw and close the cover.
6. Install a new door lock wire harness seal on to the rear door lock.
7. Insert the rear door lock into the rear door outside handle release plate, and set it to the rear door panel.
8. Make sure that the rear door outside handle engage with the lock.
9. Apply adhesive to the threads of the screws.
  Adhesive: Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

10. Using a "TORX" socket wrench T30, install the rear door lock with the 3 screws.
  Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)
11. Connect the connector.

INSTALL REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER (See REASSEMBLY )
INSTALL REAR DOOR TRIM BRACKET (See REASSEMBLY )
INSTALL REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REASSEMBLY )
INSTALL REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL (See REASSEMBLY )
INSTALL REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (See REASSEMBLY )
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
