Front Door Lock: Removal

HINT:

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  6. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOLDING ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BRACKET  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRAME REAR LOWER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Using a "TORX" socket wrench T30, remove the 3 screws.

    4. Slide the front door lock downward, pull out the front door lock open rod from the outside handle frame, and remove the front door lock and cables as a unit.
    5. Remove the front door lock open rod from the front door lock.
    6. Remove the door lock wire harness seal from the front door lock.
    7. Remove the front door lock remote control cable.

    8. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover.

    9. Remove the front door inside locking cable.
