Unlock Warning Switch: Removal

  1. TURN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  3. REMOVE STEERING PAD  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH 
    1. Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder.
    2. Disconnect the connector.
    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the unlock warning switch.
