Shift Lever: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws using a screwdriver and remove the position indicator housing.

  2. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON COVER 
    1. Remove the shift lock release button cover.
  3. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Rotate the indicator light wire counterclockwise to align the key part and separate the wire.

    2. Disconnect the indicator light wire from the 7 clamps of the shift lock control unit assembly.

    3. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamp on the transmission control switch connector.
    4. Using a screwdriver, pull the 7 (ILL+) and 14 (ILL-) terminals out from the rear.

  4. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR LIGHT GUIDE 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws using a screwdriver and remove the position indicator light guide.

  5. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER 
    1. Remove the position indicator slide cover.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER 
    1. Remove the No. 2 position indicator slide cover.

  7. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws using a screwdriver and remove the shift lock release button.

  8. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE SPRING 
    1. Remove the shift lock release spring from the shift lock control unit.
  9. REMOVE LOWER POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws using a screwdriver and remove the lower position indicator housing.

  10. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Disengage the 3 claws using a screwdriver and remove the shift lock control ECU.
