Exhaust Pipe: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR PANEL BRACE 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and floor panel brace.

  4. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.
    2. Remove the tailpipe from the 3 pipe supports.
    3. Remove the gasket from the center exhaust pipe.

  5. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts.
    2. Remove the center exhaust pipe from the 2 pipe supports.
    3. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe.

  6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs and front exhaust pipe.
    2. Remove the gasket from the manifold.

  7. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the 5 exhaust pipe supports from the body.
