Confirmation Driving Pattern

HINT:

This confirmation driving pattern is used in the "PERFORM CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN" procedure of the following diagnostic troubleshooting procedure.

Performing this confirmation pattern will activate the Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) sensor response monitor.

Connect a Techstream to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the tester ON.
Clear DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Monitor / O2 Sensor / Details.
Check that RES RATE B1S1 is Incomplete.
Start the engine and warm it up.
Drive the vehicle at between 40 km/h and 120 km/h (25 mph and 75 mph) for 3 minutes. However, the vehicle should be driven at a constant speed.
Check the monitor result values on the tester by selecting the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Monitor / O2 Sensor / Details / RES RATE B1S1 / Details.
If the values indicated on the tester do not change, perform READINESS MONITOR DRIVE PATTERN for the A/F sensor and the heated oxygen sensor (See READINESS MONITOR DRIVE PATTERN ).
HINT:

Completion of all A/F sensor monitors is required to change the value in RES RATE B1S1.
Note the value of the RES RATE B1S1.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes / Pending.
Check if any DTCs (any pending DTCs) are set.
