System Outline

  1. Speed Sensor 

    Detects the wheel speed of each of the four wheels.

  2. Skid Control ECU Assembly 

    Based on signals from the sensors, it judges the vehicle driving conditions and sends brake control signals to the brake actuator.

  3. ABS Warning Light 

    Lights up to alert the driver when the ECU detects a malfunction in the ABS system and stops the system.

  4. Brake Warning Light 

    Lights up simultaneously with the ABS warning light to alert the driver when the ECU detects a malfunction in not only the ABS but also in the EBD. It lights up independently to alert the driver when the ECU detects a malfunction in the brake system.

  5. ECM 

    Sends engine speed signals, etc. to the skid control ECU assembly.

    Receives the throttle valve opening request signal from the skid control ECU assembly.

  6. Slip Indicator Light 

    Blinks to inform the driver when the TRAC system or VSC system is in operation.

    Lights up simultaneously with the VSC warning light when the ECU detects the malfunction in the VSC and TRAC system

  7. Yaw Rate Sensor 

    Detects the vehicle's yaw rate and sends it to the ECU.

    Detects the longitudinal and lateral acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle and sends them to the ECU.

  8. VSC Warning Buzzer 

    Makes an intermittent sound to alert the driver that the skid control ECU assembly has detected that a severe understeer or oversteer is occurring.

  9. VSC Warning Light 

    Lights up to alert the driver when the ECU detects a malfunction in the VSC and TRAC system, and stops the system.

  10. Steering Sensor 

    Detects the direction and angle of the steering wheel and sends them to the ECU.
