Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION  ).
  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      DTC not output A
      DTC output B

    B : INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM )

    A: Go to next step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (SKID CONTROL BUZZER) 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Select the Active Test mode on the intelligent tester or Techstream (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST  ).
      1. Intelligent tester

        ABS/VSC: 

        ABS/VSC REFERENCE

        Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
        BUZZER Skid control buzzer Buzzer ON/OFF Buzzer can be heard
      2. Techstream

        ABS/VSC/TRAC 

        ABS/VSC/TRAC REFERENCE

        Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
        Buzzer Skid control buzzer Buzzer ON/OFF Buzzer can be heard
    4. Check that the buzzer sounds or stops in accordance with the intelligent tester or Techstream.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      Buzzer does not sound or stop constantly A
      Buzzer sounds and stops B

      HINT:

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

    B : REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

    A: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Replace the combination meter (See REMOVAL ).
  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (SKID CONTROL BUZZER) 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Select the Active Test mode on the intelligent tester or Techstream (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST  ).
      1. Intelligent tester

        ABS/VSC: 

        ABS/VSC REFERENCE

      2. Techstream

        ABS/VSC/TRAC

    4. Check that the buzzer sounds or stops in accordance with the intelligent tester or Techstream.

      Buzzer sounds and stops B

      HINT:
