Valve Body Assembly: Inspection

  1. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL1
    1. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω

    2. Connect the positive (+) battery lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, and check the operation of the valve.
NOTE: While using the battery during the inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

      OK:

The solenoid makes an operating sound.

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve SL1.

  2. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL2
    1. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1-2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve SL2.

  3. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT
    1. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve SLT.

  4. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE DSL
    1. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance

    2. Connect the positive (+) battery lead to the terminal of the solenoid connector, and the negative (-) battery lead to the solenoid body, and check the operation of the valve.
NOTE: While using the battery during the inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

      OK:

The solenoid makes an operating sound.

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve DSL.

  5. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE S4
    1. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Solenoid Connector (S4) - Solenoid Body (S4) 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15Ω

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve S4.
