Front Door Lock: Removal

HINT:

• Before adjusting the door position for vehicles equipped with side airbag and curtain shield airbag, be sure to disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. After the adjustment, inspect the SRS warning light, the side airbag system and curtain shield airbag system for normal operation (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
• The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
• Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
• The procedures listed below are for the RH side.
• A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
   CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP COVER LH 
   1. Remove the assist grip cover LH (see DISASSEMBLY ).
3. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
   1. Driver side:

      Remove the power window regulator master switch assembly (see DISASSEMBLY ).

4. REMOVE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
   1. Passenger side:

      Remove the door control switch assembly (see DISASSEMBLY ).

5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
   1. Remove the front door trim board sub-assembly (see DISASSEMBLY ).
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
   1. Remove the front door inside handle sub-assembly (see DISASSEMBLY ).
7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 
   1. Remove the front door service hole cover (see DISASSEMBLY ).
8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY REAR LOWER 
   1. Remove the front door frame sub-assembly rear lower (see DISASSEMBLY ).
9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER 
   1. Remove the front door outside handle cover (see DISASSEMBLY ).
10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front door lock assembly (see DISASSEMBLY ).
