Ignition Switch: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and cover lower.

      HINT:

      Turn the steering wheel to the right and left as necessary to remove the 2 screws and cover lower.

  3. REMOVE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the unlock warning switch connector.

    3. Remove the cable tie.

    4. Using a small screwdriver, disconnect the claw fitting, and then remove the connector of the unlock warning switch.
    5. Remove the 2 screws and ignition switch.

    6. Remove the screw and lock stopper.
