Exterior/Interior Trim: Interior: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and 4 clips, and remove the scuff plate.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and 3 clips, and remove the scuff plate.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 
    1. Remove the cap nut.
    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the clip and remove the trim board.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
  12. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER RH 
    1. Remove the floor anchor cover.
    2. Remove the bolt and front seat outer belt floor anchor.
    3. Detach the 2 clips and 2 claws, and remove the center pillar garnish.
  13. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER LH

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  14. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH UPPER RH 
    1. Remove the shoulder anchor cover.
    2. Remove the bolt and front seat outer belt shoulder anchor.
    3. w/o Curtain shield airbag:

      Detach the claw and clip, and remove the center pillar garnish by pulling it up.

    4. w/ Curtain shield airbag:

      Detach the 2 clips and remove the center pillar garnish.

  15. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH UPPER LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  16. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION WITH COVER PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  17. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  18. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  19. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY 
  20. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD 
  21. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and floor box.
  22. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY

  23. REMOVE DECK TRIM COVER REAR 
    1. Remove the 4 clips.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the trim cover.
  24. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT ANCHOR BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and anchor bracket.

  25. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the 2 covers and 2 screws.
    2. Remove the screw and compartment trim hook.
    3. Remove the bolt and seatback hinge.
    4. Remove the bolt and rear seat 3 point type belt floor anchor.

    5. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 clips and claw, and remove the side panel.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  27. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER RH 
    1. w/o Curtain shield airbag:

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips and remove the side garnish.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. w/ Curtain shield airbag:

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 clips and remove the side garnish.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  28. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER LH

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  29. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Detach the 2 claws by pulling up the garnish and remove the garnish.

    3. w/ Curtain shield airbag:

      Protect the curtain shield airbag.

      1. Thoroughly cover the airbag with cloth or nylon that is 700 mm (27.56 in.) x 120 mm (4.72 in.) and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE: Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.
  30. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  31. REMOVE RH VISOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and visor.
  32. REMOVE LH VISOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and visor.

  33. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the screw and lens cover.

    2. Remove the screw and light.
    3. Disconnect the map light connector.

  34. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the lens cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 2 screws.
    3. Disconnect the room light connector and remove the light.

  35. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the assist grip covers.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and assist grip.

  36. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER 
    1. Remove the visor holder by turning it counterclockwise.
  37. REMOVE SUN ROOF OPENING TRIM MOULDING (w/ Sliding Roof)

  38. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/ Sliding roof:

      Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips and headlining.

    2. w/o Sliding roof:

      Using a clip remover, remove the 5 clips and headlining.
