Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (for Driver Side) 
    1. Measure the resistance of the buckle switch.

    Standard resistance 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    1 - 2 Fasten seat belt 1 MΩ or higher
    1 - 2 Release seat belt Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assembly.

  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Measure the resistance of the buckle switch.

    Standard resistance 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    1 - 2 Fasten seat belt 1 MΩ or higher
    1 - 2 Release seat belt Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assembly.

  3. INSPECT OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR 
    1. Measure the resistance of the sensor.

    Standard resistance 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    1 - 3 Apply more than 147 N (15 kg, 33 lb) to occupant detection sensor Below 1 Ω
    1 - 3 Do not touch occupant detection sensor 1 MΩ or higher

    If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assembly.

  4. INSPECT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the A/C control (see REMOVAL ).
    2. Apply battery voltage to the warning lamp terminals and check warning lamp operation as shown in the table and illustration.

    OK 

    MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Measurement Condition Specified Condition
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 20
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 35
    Illuminates

    NOTE:
    • Apply protective tape to the battery leads to avoid contact with other terminals.
    • Disconnect the battery's negative (-) terminal cable immediately after the light illuminates.

If the result is not as specified, replace the A/C control assembly.
