Seat Belt Warning System: Inspection

  1. Driver side: 

    INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH 

    1. Measure the resistance of the buckle switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION CONDITION SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Fasten seat belt 1 MΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Release seat belt Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.

  2. Passenger side: 

    INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH 

    1. Measure the resistance of the buckle switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION CONDITION SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Fasten seat belt 1 MΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Release seat belt Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.

  3. Passenger side: 

    INSPECT OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR 

    1. Measure the resistance of the sensor.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION CONDITION SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 3 Apply more than 147 N (15 kg, 33 lb) to occupant detection sensor Below 1 Ω
      1 - 3 Do not touch occupant detection sensor 1 MΩ or higher

    If the result is not as specified, replace the occupant detection sensor.

  4. INSPECT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LAMP ASSY 
    1. Remove the A/C control (See OVERHAUL ).
    2. Apply battery voltage to the warning lamp terminals and check the warning lamp.

      Ok: 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFICATION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) -> Terminal 20 Illuminates
      Battery negative (-) -> Terminal 35 Illuminates
    NOTE:
    • Apply protective tape to the battery leads to avoid contact with other terminals.
    • Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal immediately after the lamp illuminates.

    HINT:

    When the system is normal, the warning lamp illuminates immediately after connecting the battery cables.

    If the result is not as specified, replace the A/C control assy.
