Terminals Of Ecu

  1. CHECK TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER

    1. Disconnect the T7 amplifier connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard: 

      TERMINALS SPECIFICATION

      Symbols (Terminal No.) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      GND (T7-7) - Body ground V - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

    3. Reconnect the T7 amplifier connector.
    4. Measure the voltage of the connector.

      Standard: 

      TERMINALS SPECIFICATION

      Symbols (Terminal No.) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      VC5 (T7-1) - GND (T7-7) L - V Power source No key in ignition key cylinder 0 V
      VC5 (T7-1) - GND (T7-7) L - V Power source Key inserted in ignition key cylinder 5 V
      CODE (T7-4) - GND (T7-7) Y - V Demodulated signal of transponder ID data No key in ignition key cylinder -> key inserted Pulse generation (see WAVEFORM 1 (REFERENCE) )
      TXCT (T7-5) - GND (T7-7) R - V Key code output signal No key in ignition key cylinder -> key inserted Pulse generation (see WAVEFORM 2 (REFERENCE) )

      If the result is not as specified, the amplifier may have a malfunction.

    5. Inspect using an oscilloscope.

      Waveform 1 (Reference): 

      WAVEFORM 1 (REFERENCE)

      Terminal CODE - GND
      Tool Setting 2 V/DIV., 20 ms/DIV.
      Condition No key in ignition key cylinder -> key inserted

      Waveform 2 (Reference): 

      WAVEFORM 2 (REFERENCE)

      Terminal TXCT - GND
      Tool Setting 2 V/DIV., 20 ms/DIV.
      Condition No key in ignition key cylinder -> key inserted

  2. CHECK TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSY

    1. Disconnect the T8 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance and voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard: 

      TERMINALS SPECIFICATION (1 OF 2)

      Symbols (Terminal No.) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      +B (T8-1) - GND (T8-14) G - BR-W Battery Always 10 to 14 V
      IG (T8-2) - GND (T8-14) LG - BR-W Ignition power supply Ignition switch OFF 0 V
      IG (T8-2) - GND (T8-14) LG - BR-W Ignition power supply Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
      KSW (T8-10) - GND (T8-14) B - BR-W Unlock warning switch No key in ignition key cylinder 10 kΩ or higher
      KSW (T8-10) - GND (T8-14) B - BR-W Unlock warning switch Key inserted in ignition key cylinder Below 1 Ω
      KSW (T8-10) - GND (T8-14) B - BR-W Unlock warning switch No key in ignition key cylinder 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

    3. Reconnect the T8 ECU connector.
    4. Measure the voltage of the connector.

      Standard:

      If the result is not as specified, the ECU may have a malfunction.

    5. Inspect using an oscilloscope.

      Waveform 1 (Reference): 

      WAVEFORM 1 (REFERENCE)

      Terminal TXCT - GND
      Tool Setting 2 V/DIV., 10 ms/DIV.
      Condition No key in ignition key cylinder -> key inserted

      Waveform 4 (Reference):

      Terminal EFII - GND
      Tool Setting 10 V/DIV., 100 ms/DIV.
      Condition Ignition switch OFF -> ON

  3. CHECK ECM

    1. Measure the voltage of the connectors.

      Standard: 

      TERMINALS SPECIFICATION

      If the result is not as specified, the ECM may have a malfunction.

    2. Inspect using an oscilloscope.
