Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 V between the ignition voltage circuit terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground.
- Left front sensor circuit terminal 12
- Right front sensor circuit terminal 26
- Left rear sensor circuit terminal 42
- Right rear sensor circuit terminal 43
- If greater than the specified range, test the ignition voltage circuit for a short to voltage.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground.
- Left front sensor circuit terminal 13
- Right front sensor circuit terminal 27
- Left rear sensor circuit terminal 41
- Right rear sensor circuit terminal 44
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the ignition voltage terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground.
- Left front sensor circuit terminal 12
- Right front sensor circuit terminal 26
- Left rear sensor circuit terminal 42
- Right rear sensor circuit terminal 43
- If less than the specified value, test the ignition voltage circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for infinite resistance between the following signal circuit terminals of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground.
- Left front sensor circuit terminal 13
- Right front sensor circuit terminal 27
- Left rear sensor circuit terminal 41
- Right rear sensor circuit terminal 44
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate wheel speed sensor.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 2 Ω between the appropriate ignition voltage circuit terminals listed below.
- Left front sensor circuit terminal 12 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal A at the wheel speed sensor harness connector.
- Right front sensor circuit terminal 26 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal A at the wheel speed sensor harness connector.
- Left rear sensor circuit terminal 42 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal A at the wheel speed sensor harness connector.
- Right rear sensor circuit terminal 43 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal A at the wheel speed sensor harness connector.
- If greater than the specified value, test the ignition voltage circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between the appropriate signal circuit terminals listed below.
- Left front sensor circuit terminal 13 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal B at the wheel speed sensor harness connector.
- Right front sensor circuit terminal 27 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal B at the wheel speed sensor harness connector.
- Left rear sensor circuit terminal 41 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal B at the wheel speed sensor harness connector.
- Right rear sensor circuit terminal 44 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal B at the wheel speed sensor harness connector.
- If greater than the specified value, test the signal circuit for an open or high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the appropriate wheel speed sensor. If the DTC resets, replace the EBCM.
